I had the pleasure of being at Bali Baby Home for 7 weeks and it’s hard to put into words how positive the experience was. Spending my days with the babies taught me a lot of things about not only their world but also mine. it was beautiful to see them grow and learn in just the short time I was with them! I love every single one of the kids with all of my heart, and I think anyone who goes cannot leave without carrying them all in their hearts as well. Seeing the awe on their faces when they discovered new things or when they taught me a new word in Indonesian is something I never want to forget. Of course, the babies are not the only amazing thing about the home- the staff of the organization truly made me feel at ease and at home. I have made some friends that I would continue visiting even if they no longer worked for the organization. I was truly welcomed with open arms and big smiles!! Me and my friend even got to experience a little more of Bali when Pakde gave us a tour, he took us all the way up to Kintamani and stopped and some beautiful places on the way there and back before dropping us off at the baby home for dinner. He really knows all the best places, so if you have him organizing outings you know it will be good!!
Being able to bring more love, joy, and safety to the children is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, and I cannot wait to come back and see them again soon- just like everyone else that has grown close to the Baby Home Family, I miss them very deeply.

My journey with Bali Baby Home began with a simple desire: to be useful and bring support to children who needed it. I arrived as a volunteer, without imagining how deeply this experience would change my life. I discovered a team that was truly dedicated, incredibly resilient children, and a place that quickly became a second family to me.

Over time, I became even more involved in the orphanage and its projects, eventually creating the association Solidarité et Sourires d’Enfants to provide long-term support to children's homes in Indonesia. Being a volunteer taught me that even a simple gesture, your presence, or a smile can make a huge difference. It is a unique human experience that allows you not only to help others but also to grow personally and leave with unforgettable memories and lifelong connections.

During my 2 week stay in Bali, I got to experience life changing experiences that changed my perception on many things. Spending my days with the babies at the home was so fulfilling and fun, they learned a lot from us and we learned from them! Taking them for excursions our the home was even better, to see the excitement and joy on their faces, reminded me of the impact that I and the other volunteers have on these babies. We let them experience the joy of play and love in new places other than the home, showing them that new is not always scary, yet exciting and fun, creating a sense of safety for them. I miss them so much and can't wait to go back to see them all!
